November 2025

October saw something truly special roll into town — and it turned heads for all the right reasons. At our family-run garage in Crickhowell, we’ve always believed in doing things a little differently. But this autumn, we took that spirit to a whole new level.
Last month, we proudly unveiled our latest project: the DTG PINK-UP Truck. What started as a bold idea became a reality — built to mark Wear It Pink Day and raise awareness for the incredible charity Breast Cancer Now.
Next year will mark nearly five decades of serving Crickhowell and the surrounding areas. Over the years, we’ve supported our community in countless ways — sponsoring the local rugby club, donating prizes to schools, and always striving to be a dependable part of local life. This year, we wanted to do something extra special. Something visible. Something meaningful.
The idea of a pink Isuzu didn’t appear overnight. When most people think of Isuzu, they picture rugged, practical vehicles — usually in muted, traditional colours. We asked ourselves: what if we turned that on its head? What if we created something that sparked conversation and carried a message beyond the bonnet?
It took three or four years to convince our director, Gene, that this leap was worth taking — but eventually, we made it happen. Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink campaign gave us the perfect partner and purpose. Pink, in this case, represented far more than a colour — it stood for hope, strength, and community spirit.
To the best of our knowledge, it’s the only pink Isuzu in the UK. Our expert mechanics stripped the vehicle right back to its chassis before the transformation began. Then came the magic: Chris Prior Graphics applied an Indian Glitter-Gloss vinyl wrap, giving the truck a subtle, eye-catching sparkle in the sunshine.
We reassembled the truck with a suite of standout accessories: a mountain-top roll cover, laser linear lights, BFG tyres, an in-cab wireless charger, wheel arches, spacers, window visors, and a bonnet protector. The entire process — from concept to completion — took months of planning, technical skill, and creative flair.
This project was about more than just colour. It was about community, conversation, and change. As a family-run business rooted in Crickhowell, we’ve always valued our connection with local people. This campaign allowed us to use our platform to highlight breast cancer awareness, early detection, and the power of people coming together.
The response was heartwarming. Our online auction, supported by Abergavenny Garden Centre and others, raised over £800, with all proceeds going directly to Breast Cancer Now. We were overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone who took part and helped us make a difference.
Launch day was everything we’d hoped for. We visited Llangattock and Llangynidr schools with “Pinky” the unicorn riding shotgun in the truck, ran a colouring competition, and watched the children’s excitement light up the day.
Online, we shared a playful Barbie / Legally Blonde-inspired video to announce the truck to the world. After that, the pink Isuzu toured local businesses in Abergavenny before heading further afield to events such as Car Wow in Stratford.
So if you spot a bright pink Isuzu on the road — you’ll know exactly what it stands for.
Together, we drove more than a truck.
We drove awareness.
We drove community.
We drove change.
Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout October — and for helping us make a real difference.
If you’d like to get involved, you can still support Breast Cancer Now by donating, sharing our story online, or visiting us at David Taylor Garages to see the pink Isuzu for yourself. Let’s keep driving awareness — together.
