Fully Qualified Vehicle Mechanic

David Taylor Garages is a family-run business that has been serving our local community for over 50 years. We are currently seeking a Fully qualified vehicle technician to join our team and help us continue to provide our customers with exceptional service. A high percentage of vehicles that go through our workshops are pickup trucks, so an interest in commercial vehicles would be preferable.

Responsibilities:

-       Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, to ensure vehicles are operating efficiently and safely.

-       Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles, utilising diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems accurately.

-       Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess overall condition and identify potential issues that require attention.

-       Complete repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.

-       Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on vehicles, including parts used and labour hours.

-       Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs needed and address any questions or concerns.

-       Stay up to date with advancements in automotive technology and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

-       Always adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

-       Work with other members of the service team to prioritise workload and meet deadlines effectively.

-       Maintain a clean and organised work area, including tools, equipment, and service bays, to ensure a professional and efficient work environment.

 

Requirements:

-       Fully qualified vehicle technician.

-   MOT tester preferable but not essential, providing you are willing to achieve the certification

-       Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles.

-       Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

-       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-       Strong communication and customer service skills.

-       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills.

-       Must hold a clean driving license.
